Hi, I’m Jennifer Kanyumwa, founder of Mujen Community, and I’m so glad you’re here. My journey to creating this space is a deeply personal one, rooted in the lessons I’ve learned over the years from following my heart and intuition—even when I didn’t have all the answers.
The Meaning Behind Mujen Community
For 12 years, I’ve dreamed of creating a space that would empower people to reclaim their creativity, trust their intuition, and align with their deepest desires. Mujen means “infinite” or “to dream,” and that’s exactly what I want this space to represent: an opportunity to step into your limitless potential and create the life you’ve always dreamed of.
My Journey
After earning my Bachelor of Fine Arts and feeling disconnected from the world of creativity, I found myself in the corporate world, far from the artistic expression I had once loved. At 25, I decided to trust my intuition and take a leap: I quit my job and traveled to seven countries in Africa to volunteer. That experience was life-changing. It taught me that even when I don’t have the full picture, I can trust my heart to lead me where I need to go.
Over the years, I’ve built and sold a business, lived in South Africa for three years, and continued to travel, volunteer, and explore various art practices. But even with all of this, something was missing. I wasn’t fully aligned with my values or the deeper purpose I was seeking.
It wasn’t until I experienced burnout and faced challenges to my health that I finally took the courageous step to follow my true calling and launch Mujen Community. This community was born from the same desire I had all those years ago: to help others reconnect with themselves, heal from burnout, and embrace their true potential.
A Moment of Clarity
When I was leaving my home in Whistler, British Columbia, to embark on my first trip to Africa, I was filled with a mix of emotions—excitement, sadness, fear, and uncertainty. As I was driving down the Sea to Sky Highway, a huge eagle swooped across my windshield. It was so close that I could feel its presence. In that moment, I knew I was on the right path, even if I didn’t have all the answers. Eagles have since become a symbol of clarity and guidance for me, reminding me that I am always being led in the right direction.
Eagles are seen as messengers in many indigenous cultures, with a unique ability to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds. I’ve carried this symbolism with me ever since, and it’s deeply woven into the work I do today.
