I didn’t know I was burned out.
I just knew I couldn’t focus.
Simple tasks felt confusing.
I couldn’t retain new information.
I was tired all the time — even after sleeping in or taking time off.
And slowly, I started to question if I was even capable anymore.
From the outside, everything looked fine.
I was still showing up. Still delivering. Still keeping it all together.
But inside, I felt foggy, numb, and disconnected from myself. Like something had shut off.

Burnout Isn’t Always Obvious
We tend to think burnout looks like collapse — the dramatic kind. But for many women, burnout is quiet. It builds slowly. It looks like:

Anxiety or panic in the body — even when you’re “resting”
Thinking, “Is this just how life is now?”
That was me. For longer than I care to admit.
What Helped Me Begin Again
I didn’t heal from burnout through discipline or productivity hacks. I tried that. It made it worse.
I started to feel better when I gave myself permission to slow down — not just physically, but emotionally and energetically.
