Mary Magdalene: The Voice That Would Not Be Silenced

Mary Magdalene holding a candle and red rose. Her eyes are cloth and her head is covered with a burn orange hood from her cape.

Mary Magdalene Day

Today, July 22, we honour Mary Magdalene—a woman whose energy still ripples across time.
A woman of profound spiritual clarity, healing presence, and unshakable devotion.

Not the sinner they named her.
Not the shadow they cast on her.

She was a witness.
A keeper of sacred truth.
A woman who remembered.

They Tried to Erase Her—But Her Spirit Endures

For over a thousand years, her identity was distorted—merged with unnamed women, mischaracterized as a prostitute, pushed to the margins.
Not by accident.
But by systems that feared what she represented:

A spiritually empowered woman.
A teacher.
A leader.
A voice that spoke without permission.

But no rewriting could dim the truth of her being.

Even now, her spirit speaks.
And what it says to many of us is simple, but powerful:
“Remember who you are.”

Mary Magdalene’s Energy Is Still Here

She walks with the woman reclaiming her voice.
She stands beside those healing quietly in their own time.
She is felt in the breath before truth is spoken, the space where shame is released, the moment you stop waiting for permission.

Her presence is subtle but steady.
Not loud. But unwavering.
Not showy. But deeply rooted.

She reminds us:

  • Clarity doesn’t always come with applause.

  • Devotion doesn’t need a platform.

  • And your truth doesn’t need to be explained to be holy.

This Is a Day to Remember

You can light a candle.
Take a breath with your hand over your heart.
Write the words you’ve been afraid to say.
Or simply sit in silence and listen inward.

Let her presence guide you not to become like her—but to become more yourself.

Because what was done to her has been done to so many women:
Misnamed.
Misunderstood.
Pushed aside.

And still—we rise.
Still—we return.
Still—we remember.

Let Her Be a Mirror

Not of perfection.
But of truth, clarity, and spiritual strength.

She wasn’t erased.
She was remembered.

And through that remembrance, we begin to remember ourselves.
